BJP unnecessarily creating panic over sealing: Ram Babu

Staff Reporter

`Supreme Court had given the orders in an individual case'

NEW DELHI: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma said on Friday that the Supreme Court had not changed its order of February 12 regarding sealing in the city under which it had given a period of 90 days to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to add some new roads to the category of notified roads.

Stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party was unnecessarily creating panic over the issue, Mr. Sharma said as per the February 12 order there would be no sealing in Delhi till April 10.

He clarified that in its order on Friday, the apex court had given the orders in an individual case regarding de-sealing of a shop.

"The Supreme Courts has asked from the petitioner whether his shop exists on one of the 2,183 notified roads. As the shop of the petitioner was not situated on any of the notified roads, its seal was not ordered to be opened,'' Mr Sharma said, adding that "it does not mean that the Court has ordered for any sort of sealing.''
