Condition of L-G stable

NEW DELHI: The condition of the Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi, B. L. Joshi, who was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Friday morning, is said to be stable. Mr. Joshi is undergoing treatment for neurological problems.

"Mr. Joshi is fine and will be discharged in a day or two,'' said a physician at the hospital. A team of doctors led by the head of the neurological department, Dr. C. S. Aggarwal, is attending on Mr. Joshi.

Mughal Garden to remain open daily

NEW DELHI: The Mughal Garden of Rasthrapati Bhavan that used to remain shut on Mondays for maintenance work will now remain open on all days of the week this month. It will be open to the public from 10-30 a.m. to 4-30 p.m. daily

The sprawling Mughal Garden always attracts a large number of visitors and this year 2.5 lakh people have already visited the place. The fragrant roses are proving to be a big crowd-puller this year.

Entry to the Mughal Garden is from Gate No. 35 of President's Estate.

Elephant dies in Delhi Zoo

NEW DELHI: The elephant that had been seized by the Haryana Forest Department and housed in Delhi Zoo last year died on Thursday evening.

"The 13-year-old elephant could not use his right forelimb and the animal's left forelimb was also affected. The condition did not allow the elephant to sit or bend his limbs. On February 21 the elephant fell and despite our best efforts his condition deteriorated and he could not be saved,'' said Delhi Zoo vet Paneer Selvam.

Bicycle rally tomorrow

NEW DELHI: As part of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh centenary celebrations a bicycle rally will be flagged off from Delhi this Sunday.

Organised under the banner of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Birth Centenary Celebration Committee, the rally will pass through Rohtak, Bhiwani, Hissar, Sirsa, Mansa, Barnala and Moga and conclude at Hussainiwala in Ferozepur district of Punjab on March 23. It will spread the message of the life and ideas of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Jal Board cash collection centres

NEW DELHI: To help consumers pay their bills, all cash collection centres of the Delhi Jal Board will function from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a lunch break from 1 p.m. to 1-30 p.m. on all working days, including second Saturday, up to March 31.
