KADAPA: District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu on Tuesday warned that criminal cases would be booked against persons using machinery for Indiramma works. Mr. Krishna Babu toured C. Polimerapalle, Bonamala, Padamatikona, Boreddigaripalle, Chinnanarsupalle and Devagudipalle villages in Chinnamandem mandal and inspected works under Indiramma project. He directed officials to ensure that the APREGS works were completed with labourers, without involving middlemen. adding that men and women would be paid equal wages. Promising house sites to all eligible beneficiaries, he asked people to register with panchayat secretaries. Assuring pensions for persons aged above 65 years and widows, he said committees would enlist all eligible beneficiaries. Purchase and sale of DKT lands was an offence, he told people in a meeting at Devagudipalle. Mr. Krishna Babu inspected an anganwadi centre at C. Polimerapalle and enquired with pregnant women on nutritious food supply. Labourers engaged in Thoogunta tank work complained of shortage of tools.
