THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A galaxy of celebrities in the political and cultural spheres descended for the marriage of Vijay Jesudas, son of the playback singer K.J. Jesudas, with Darsana. The ceremony, at the Subramaniam Hall of the Trivandrum Club on Sunday, began with the groom seeking the blessings of the veteran music director V. Dakshinamoorthy. Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan; the Ministers M.A. Baby, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, M. Vijayakumar, Mullakkara Ratnakaran, Benoy Viswom and N.K. Premachandran; Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, the Nationalist Congress Party leader K. Karunakaran, the BJP leader O. Rajagopal; and KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala were among those from the political world who turned up for the wedding. A number of film stars, directors, producers and playback singers were present. Mohanlal, Madhu, Sheela, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Sreenivasan, Sidhique, Jayasoorya and Babu Antony, actors, were present. The Music director M.G. Radhakrishnan; M.G. Sreekumar, Vidhu Prathap, Vineeth Sreenivasan, and Radhika Thilak, playback singers; I.V. Sasi, film director; and the lyricist Yousuf Ali Kecheri also turned up. Swami Sookshmananda of the Sivagiri Math, Varkala, was also present. A. Nadaswaram concert, led by `Thiruvizha' Jayasankar, was held on the occasion.
