KOCHI: Four persons involved in various cases of robbery and pick-pocketing were arrested during a late night special drive by Ernakulam Town Central Police on Tuesday. The special drive against crime, titled Operation November, was being conducted as instructed by City Police Commissioner P. Vijayan. Those arrested were identified as Binoy, 24, of Idukki; Jobin, 23, of Vaikom; Vinod Kumar, 28, of Thiruvankulam, and Sajeer, 24, of Kattakada. Vinod Kumar and Sajeer were arrested while attempting to break into Esplanade Shopping Complex, Convent Junction, at Ernakulam Market Road at 1.30 a.m. on Tuesday night by a team led by Central Circle Inspector G. Venu. Binoy and Jobin were arrested while attempting to break into to Planet Computers at Karshaka Road at 2.30 a.m. Binoy is accused in a burglary case at a cigarette godown at Pala and two other cases at Central Station. Vinod has a murder bid case registered against him at Thrikakkara police station. Sajeer and Jobin have cases on robbery and pickpocketing at Central and Palarivattom police stations. The accused were produced before Judicial First Class Magistrate II and were remanded for 14 days.
