Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in parts of Injambakkam including Neelangarai, Maraikayar Nagar, Teachers Colony, Workers Estate and Vaithyalingam Salai and parts of R.A. Puram including R.K. Mutt Road, Rajamuthiapuram, Srinivasa Avenue Road and School View Road on November 23 (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) for maintenance work .

Exhibition

Concern India Foundation is organising a three-day exhibition, `November Passion' at Madras Centre, No.21, Dr.Thirumurthi Nagar, Nungambakkam starting from Thursday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. With participants from across India, the exhibition will feature products such as jewellery, clothes and household linen.

Company secretary course

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Nungambakkam, has called for applications to the course for Intermediate State of Company Secretaryship. Students will have to apply by November 30 and would be eligible to appear for the June 2007 Intermediate examinations. Graduates in any discipline (except fine arts) may apply. Aero-modelling class

Anna Nagar-based Hobby Club offers an aero-modelling course on how aeroplanes, helicopters and hovercrafts fly. Practical training to build aeroplane glider models is provided. Anyone above 10 years may join. Tel: 43538226.

Appreciation for PWD

Sai Nagar Women's Civic Exnora recently held a meeting to thank the Public Works Department for the efficient desilting of Virugambakkam canal. The desilting had prevented the flooding of surrounding localities during the rain, said association president S. Punitha.

Bomb hoax at Church

The St. Anthony's Church in Parry's received a bomb threat call on Tuesday evening. The police said that a team rushed to the church immediately only to find that the call was a hoax. Further investigations are on.
