College student run over

TAMBARAM
: An 18-year-old youth died after being run over by a Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus at Sithalapakkam near Tambaram on Tuesday. Pallikaranai police identified the victim as M. David, a first-year college student.
Studying computer science in a private software training centre, David had boarded the MTC bus No. 51 B plying between Saidapet and Karanai, at Medavakkam bus stop. He was hanging on to the bus precariously from the footboard. At Sithalapakkam junction, he slipped and fell from the bus and was run over by the rear wheels. The accident took place at 6.30 p.m. The first-year college student was a resident of Arasankazhuni in Sithalapakkam.
