Training programme to improve personality

Vikram College of Engineering, Enathi, organised a training programme on personality development at its campus recently.

Palani Kumar, principal, presided over the programme.

Students were given training on areas including aptitude skills, self-awareness, motivation, knowledge-acquisition skills, assertiveness, creativity, career-planning.

M. K. S. Srinivasan, chairman of the college chaired the valedictory programme. V. Jeyapaul Sathiasaran, Head, Training and Placement, V. Va. Sriram, Director, RIPE institute, J. Venkatraman, General Manager, Chennai, Vickram, Secretary participated.

Dr. Zahir Hussain College, Ilayangudi, in Sivaganga district conducted an awareness programme on traffic rules and regulations recently.

Chandrasekaran, Regional Transport Officer, who participated as a chief guest, not only spoke on do's and don'ts but also gave away learner's license to five students. S. Likakathalikhan, principal, NSS officers, Mohamed Ibrahim, Rajabudeen, Jahangir and Vijakanth participated.

A lecture on `Metric Preserving Functions' was delivered by

E. K. R. Nagarajan, reader and head, Department of Mathematics, Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College.

He was speaking at a guest lecture programme organised by the Postgraduate Department of Mathematics under `Virudhunagar District Cluster of Colleges Joint Faculty programme in Mathematics.' About 200 students of M.Sc (Mathematics) from the colleges in Virudhunagar district took part in the programme.

The Department of Soil and Environment, Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, has started a `soil plant analytical advisory centre'. This centre would have facilities for analysing soil, plant, fertiliser, irrigation, water and manures.
