Fines and suspensions

MYSORE: The following are the fines and suspensions announced after last week's races.

On Sept. 7, V. R. Jagadeesh, rider of Keep Guessing, was fined Rs. 2,000 for causing interference to Khoka (M. Mark up) and Beyond Limits (A. Velu up) during the Somanathpur Plate (Div. II).

Gajendra Singh, rider of Amazing Forest, was fined Rs. 2,000 for not persevering with his mount in the Udhagamandalam Cup (Div. II) and in the first division of the same race Ranjeet Singh, rider of Royal Assault, was fined Rs. 1,000 for using an unserviceable equipment (Surcingle).

N. Harsha, rider of Big Dream, was fined Rs. 1,000 for not sufficiently persevering with his mount in the Star Of Mysore Gold Cup.

In the Talakadu Plate (1,200m) run on Sept. 8, J. Chetan, trainer of Flower Dew, was fined Rs. 2,000 for faulty saddling of his charge.

The Stewards have opened an enquiry into the running and riding of Feroz M. Khan's charge Fixed Dividend which was ridden by F. K. Shahbuddin.

In the Reliance Gold Trophy (Div. II), Neil Darashah, trainer of Royal Retort, was fined Rs. 2,000 for declaring jockey Vivek to ride his charge without ascertaining the availability of the rider concerned.

In the same race, C. Krishnan, rider of Star News, was fined Rs. 2,000 for not making sufficient effort to improve his position during the race and Ranjeet Singh, rider of Dangerous Illusion, was fined Rs.2,000 for not exercising sufficient control over his mount.

The Stewards have suspended jockey A. Velu for the period Sept. 18 to Oct. 13 (both days inclusive), for dangerous riding on Light Speed in the Pune Plate (Div. II), however he has been permitted to ride work.

K. P. G. Appu, rider of Romantic Getaway, was fined Rs. 1,000 for causing interference to Taurian (Vivek up) during the H. H. Sri Krishnaraja Wadiyar Memorial Gold Cup (1,400m).

In the Sanctity Cup (1,400m), Feroz M. Khan, trainer of Lionheart, was fined Rs. 2,000 for his negligence pertaining to the fastening of saddle of his charge.

In the same race, Y.S. Srinath, rider of Game Fighter and Shobhan Babu, rider of Bountiful Heights were fined Rs. 1,000 each for excessive use of whip on their mounts (first infringement).
