GUNTUR: Two engineering college students of Hyderabad were washed away in the waters gushing out of the powerhouse of Nagarjunasagar Project into the Krishna in Guntur district on Thursday. Eight friends came from Hyderabad to visit Nagarjunasagar in the morning and one of them, Shiva Prasad, 18, a student of Aeronautical and Technological Institute, Dindigul, entered the flowing waters, near the old bridge, to wash his feet while others were on the bank. Prasad got sucked in which prompted his friend Pavan Kumar, 20, of Royal Engineering College, Chevella, to rush into the waters to save his friend but was washed away.
Bodies yet to be recovered
The police said that bodies could not to be recovered till late in the night. Parents of the two students, residing in Kukatpally area, set out for Sagar after the police informed them about the incident.
