Exporter gets silver for a stellar performance

Through prompt supply, adherence to quality norms

Karur: Quality coupled with adherence to the prescribed delivery schedule has bestowed glory on a handloom exporter here.

K. Subramanian of R.K. Textiles, a notable name in the handloom export circles, has bagged silver for outstanding performance in handloom exports at the XXIV Handloom Export Awards conferred by the Handloom Export Promotion Council, promoted by the Union Ministry of Textiles.

Union Textiles Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela gave away the award for the year 2004-05 to Mr. Subramanian at a function in New Delhi recently.

In fact, the award is nothing new to Mr. Subramanian as he had bagged the same award during 2003-04 and has walked away with the top honours winning the gold for outstanding performance in exports during 2002-03 in the `Category-III deemed exports section."

Prompt supply and adherence to quality norms has landed me those awards in consecutive years, observes a proud Mr. Subramanian, adding that the brand image for Karur home textiles including made-ups would receive more support from international buyers through such awards.
