Rain kills 7 in Chhattisgarh

New Delhi: Seven more people were killed during overnight downpours that lashed almost all districts of Chhattisgarh, taking the toll to 18 and damaging property worth Rs. 300 crore even as the death count in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra's Kolhapur reached 19.

The flood situation in Andhra Pradesh continued to be grim while it showed considerable improvement in central Gujarat.

Many islands and habitations along the Krishna in Andhra Pradesh are under threat after 5.2 lakh cusecs of rainwater were discharged from Nagarjunasagar to Prakasam barrage on Sunday morning. The Nagarjunasagar dam was receiving heavy inflows, due to discharge from Jurala and Srisailam reservoirs, sources added.
