Myskina-Zheng final

STOCKHOLM: Top seed Anastasia Myskina and third seed Zheng Jie won in straight sets to reach the final at the Nordic Light Open on Saturday.

Myskina made it to the final after beating fourth seed and home favourite Sofia Arvidsson 6-2, 6-4 at the Olympic Stadium.

It was the Russian's fourth straight victory over Arvidsson, and she has not dropped a set against the Swede. A win in the final will reward Myskina with a return to the top 10 in Monday's new rankings.

Zheng defeated unseeded Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria 6-2, 7-6(4) in the other semifinal for her 200th career victory.

She has won two of her three previous finals, including at Estoril in May. She's set to crack the top 30 on Monday for the first time. — AP
