Almandine shines

Pune: Almandine and Native Strategy shone when the horses were exercised here on Sunday morning (Aug. 13).

Sand track:

600m: Persephone (T. S. Jodha) 41. Easy.

800m: Rejuvenite (F. Irani) 55, 600/42. Moved freely. Gatravat (Merchant), Gandiva (Chowghule) and Horse Raddish (I. Shaikh) 54, 600/40. Gatravat finished five lengths ahead of Gandiva who further finished five lengths in front of Horse Raddish. Trio was pushed. Regina (Zameer) 56.5, 600/42. Easy. Champions League (Aadesh), Robinho (Belose) 56, 600/41. They moved level freely. Rodin (Kamlesh), Bergerac (Rupesh) 53.5, 600/40. They were urged and ended level. West Coast Eagle (Pradeep) 56, 600/42.5. Handy. Royal Princess (M. Narredu) 52, 600/38.5. Moved attractively.

1,000m: Stratehendrick (Kharadi), Glenbervie (rb) 1-9.5, 600/40. Former who is in good shape finished six lengths ahead. Note. Auryn (Rupesh), Britney (J. Chinoy) 1-9, 600/41. They moved level freely. Mischief Inhiseyes (S. M. Johnson), Oh What A Babe (Aadesh) 1-9.5, 600/40.5. Pair moved freely.

1,200m: Count Du Monet (M. Narredu), Divine Protocol (Kamlesh) 1-24, 600/42.5. Former started four lengths behind and finished level. Spinoza (Kamlesh), Classic Scene (Ruzaan) 1-25.5, 800/54.5, 600/41. They did pace work. Almandine (M. Narredu), Native Strategy (C. Rajendra) 1-23, 600/40. Both are in shipshape condition. Somerset West (Ruzaan), Touch A Star (Neeraj) 1-23, 1,000/1-7, 800/52, 600/38.5. Former made up two lengths and finished three lengths ahead.

1,400m: Secret Garden (Ruzaan), Totalitarian (Neeraj) 1-40.5, 800/53.5, 600/40. A fit pair.

Mock race (Race track) — Aug. 12:

1,000m: Fire God (S. N. Chavan), Major Roberts (Shelar), Princeway (Rupesh), Beloved (Agarwal), Rassasa (Sandeep) and King Of Happiness (Aadesh) 1-3, 600/36. Fire God won comfortably by eight lengths. Beloved was slowly off.
