Alleged contract killer, two others held

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: An alleged gangster and his two accomplices have been arrested at Khanpur by the Special Staff of the South Delhi police. A stolen Maruti car was allegedly recovered from their possession.

Sanjay Garg, Akash Garg and Mohammad Shakil were travelling in the stolen car when they were intercepted by a team led by Inspector Rajender Singh. Investigations revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from Hauz Khas. Subsequently the three were arrested.

During interrogation, Sanjay purportedly disclosed that three years ago he had killed Manoj Kasana, nephew of Madan Bhaiya, as a result of rivalry with another gangster Sachin. According to the police, Sachin had tried to eliminate Sanjay while he was being produced in a Noida court way back in 2001, but the former escaped unhurt. A few months later, Sachin again opened fire at Sanjay in the court premises. Sanjay sustained injuries but survived.

Sanjay told the police that he was released from jail about a month ago.
