Pakistan denies firing
JAMMU:
The Army on Saturday said some rounds were fired recently at an Indian border post near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector and the matter had been taken up with the Pakistani authorities.
At a flag meeting held after the incident, Pakistani officials denied this. They said militants might have carried out the attack, Col. D.K. Badola, a spokesman of 16 Army Corps, said.
Maintaining that the border truce with Pakistan was holding, he said: "There was no attack by Pakistani troops on forward Indian posts along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir."
At the flag meeting, Indian authorities told their Pakistani counterparts to keep a vigil on the movement of militants near the LoC, Col. Badola said.
