M.L. Sondhi Prize

NEW DELHI:
The M. L. Sondhi Institute for Asia-Pacific Affairs has announced the setting up of an annual prize in memory of the former professor of International Affairs in Jawaharlal Nehru University.
The prize — carrying a cash component of Rs. 1 lakh — will be given for ``an outstanding contribution, relevant to India, to the theory or practice of international politics''.
A release issued from the institute says that the selection will be made by a committee and The Professor M. L. Sondhi Memorial Trust. Nominations from renowned faculty, journalists, parliamentarians, and serving and former senior government officials should reach the committee by December 1.
Besides the cash component, the award includes a plaque and an invitation to lecture in the capital at a convenient time.
