Firm to offer cosmetology courses at graduate and undergraduate level

HYDERABAD: Anoo's Electrolysis & Obesity (P) Ltd, a firm offering clinical services in weight management and skin care operations for more than two decades, is setting up an International Beauty School (Anoo's IBS).

It is to be a professional institute for aestheticians at the graduate and undergraduate levels with tailor-made short-term and long-term courses for the first time in the country.

Huge market

The firm is eyeing the Rs. 5,000-crore beauty and allied services market in India with a growth rate of over 20 per cent.

Anoo's director Ch. Anuradha told reporters here on Sunday that cosmetology education assumed significance as the Indian beauty industry would need thoroughly trained professionals to meet the growing demand.

Anoo's was investing around Rs 4 crores on the beauty school towards latest infrastructure spread over two floors and 10,000 square feet meeting international standards.

The school would have another 10,000 sq.ft. space covering two floors dedicated to salon services that would include beauty and healthcare centres.

A well-designed curriculum for developing aptitude and attitude had been prepared and it would cover international standard cosmetology, spa and aromatherapy treatments.

Flexible packages

The company was currently in discussions with leading international beauty therapy associations such as CIDESCO and City & Guilds for entering into affiliations.

The school would offer flexible learning packages that include full-time day, part-time evening and special weekend programmes.
