"Police arrested Rahul under pressure"
New Delhi
: Rahul Mahajan, who was arrested this evening for alleged consumption of drugs and destruction of evidence, has denied taking any contraband, his lawyer Sunil Mittal said.
Mr. Mittal told reporters here that it was obvious that the police arrested Mr. Mahajan "under pressure and we are trying to find out what that pressure is."
He said the evidence, on the basis of which he has been arrested, was not sufficient as no drugs, as per the tests carried out by the Apollo Hospital, were found in samples of Mr. Mahajan.
Terming as "tutored" the statement of Sahil Zaroo, who allegedly procured the drug for Rahul and Pramod Mahajan's secretary Bibek Moitra, Mr. Mittal said his client had not "recovered fully and we are also exploring the legal remedies available to him." — PTI
