Indian pair wins doubles championship

CHENNAI: Top seeds Jeevan Nedunchezian and Sanam Singh won the Tennis Academy of Asia Bangkok ITF Junior Grade I doubles title by defeating the unseeded Australian pair of Joel Lindner and John Smith of Australia 6-4, 6-2, according to information received here.

Earlier in the singles event, fourth seed Jeevan lost in the semifinals to Dennis Lajola of the U.S. 6-3, 5-7, 3-6. Jeevan was leading 6-3, 4-1, before gifting the match away. Top-seeded Sanam lost to Parakiat Siriluethwa of Thailand in the second round 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
