Sandeep and Marianne in lead
VYTHIRI: Mumbai couple Sandeep Karmarkar and Marianne were the surprise leaders after the sixth round in the Subash Agarwala Trophy pairs event in the 37th Summer National Bridge tournament, here on Saturday evening.
The players, who were ranked tenth after the semifinals, led the table with 225 Victory Points (VPs). Gopinath Manna and Debashis Bose were in the second spot with 211 VPs.
The positions: 1. Sandeep Karmarkar/Marianne Karmarkar (225 VPs), 2. Debashis Bose/Gopinath Manna (211), 3. V. Joseph/S. Sarkar (195), 4. B.K. Satyan/Rajeev Parasar (189), 5. B.M. Behra/D.N. Lenka (165), 6. Sujit Bhattacharjee/Snehashis Roy (154).
