Bangalore: The National Multi-commodity Exchange of India (NMCE) has arranged for a warehouse for coffee through the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) at Kushalnagar in Kodagu district. The warehouse addresses a demand of coffee growers in and around the district. Owing to the warehouse they can reduce the cost of transportation. The warehouse, which will be a state-of-the-art facility, will ensure preservation of the moisture and colour of coffee. It will have a capacity of 600 tonnes initially. Making the announcement, NMCE Managing Director Kailash Gupta said that the NMCE believes that the only way to persuade more people enter the system of trading is to make the infrastructure convenient and accessible, and the process of doing so easy. "All that any coffee grower has to do now is to deliver the produce at Kushalnagar, instead of transporting it to Bangalore, and get the CWC receipt. The receipt allows him to trade through a broker and get the best possible deal," he added.
