Boy comes under wheels of RTC bus

Woman murdered

An unidentified woman aged about 25 years and believed to be a junior film artiste, was found murdered with her throat slit, in a ditch along Narne Road in Raidurg on Thursday. Raidurg Inspector R. Sudarshan said the killers apparently dumped the body into the 20-feet ditch after killing her elsewhere. They also threw her trunk box containing dresses and cosmetics beside the body. The CLUES team and dog squad were pressed into service.

Boy run over

An RTC bus of Narayankhed depot crushed a 12-year-old boy to death at Shivaji bridge in Afzalgunj on Thursday evening.

The victim Mohd. Wajid was riding pillion on a scooter along with his father Mohd. Iliyas. They were coming from Moghalpura to Afzalgunj around 5 p.m. when the bus coming from behind hit them.

While Iliyas escaped with minor injuries, Wajid came under the rear wheels of the bus. Tiff over ceiling fan proves fatal

A tiff between two friends over switching off the ceiling fan proved fatal for one of them at Autonagar in Vanasthalimpuram after Wednesday midnight.

Shakoor and Niranjan working as mechanics in a transport company were living in a rented house along with two other workers.

After midnight, Shakoor woke up and asked Niranjan to turn off the fan saying he was feeling cold. Niranjan refused to do so. This led to a heated argument between the two.

In a fit of rage Niranjan pushed Shakoor who fell on a stool and sustained serious internal injuries.

He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital, Saroorangar ACP K. Jaganmohan Reddy said.

Elderly couple robbed

Two unidentified persons robbed an elderly couple, J.K. Reddy, a retired Air Force officer and his wife Lalita, of 25 tolas gold and 2.5 kg silver articles at knifepoint after sneaking inside by removing the ventilator grills at Jubilee Hills in the wee hours of Thursday.

Later, they locked the couple in the bedroom and fled.
