Bose systems come out with wireless audio link

Staff Reporter

It can turn a home into a virtual audio station with different music playing in different rooms

CHENNAI: Bose audio systems and speakers have always been every audiophile's dream. The international audio company's latest offering is a wireless audio link system, an upgrade of the Bose Lifestyle DVD home entertainment system launched here a year ago.

The company's latest AL8 Homewide Wireless Audio Link comes with a wireless transmitter and receiver that can be used to turn a home into a virtual audio station with different music playing in different rooms. It is an improvement over its earlier home entertainment models that had the same sound clarity but involved the hassle of wiring.

Representatives of Bose Corporation were in Chennai on Thursday to promote the wireless system along with three other products — Lifestyle Roommate personal speaker system, Personal Music Centre II remote for home theatre systems and Cinemate digital home theatre system — all of which are being released in the Asia-Pacific market simultaneously.

The AL8 wireless system features "proprietary freefield" circuitry that limits interference from other devices such as cordless phones. Another unique preposition is its ability to transmit two independent audio sources. So with two receivers, it is possible for two rooms of the house to feature different audio streams.

Size does not matter

Bose's speakers have all been small in size, aesthetically designed and are capable of packing a punch.

The Cinemate speaker system also follows the trend. It consists of two speakers and an "acoustimass module."

The Cinemate speakers are compatible with all home theatre systems and deliver a "Truespace" surround sound effect.

Bose Corporation India Private Limited general manager Ratish Pandey said the Cinemate speakers were created to provide consumers a simple solution to the otherwise complicated 5.1 and 6.1 home theatre systems.

The Personal Music Centre II is another expansion to be used with Bose Lifestyle range of home entertainment systems. It's a universal radio frequency remote control capable of doing all the functions possible with Bose Lifestyle systems.

The Boselink AL8 wireless system is priced at Rs.21,900 and the Cinemate digital home theatre speaker system at Rs. 32,900. Taxes extra. For details, log on to www.boseindia.com.
