Authorised training centre for Tally to come up in Vizag

Staff Reporter

Four-level course in accounting software

VISAKHAPATNAM: Tally Solutions Private Limited of Bangalore will launch its popular accounting software `Tally' at Saiteja Computer Services Private Limited here on Thursday.

Addressing a media conference in this connection on Wednesday, K.L. Narasimham and B.V.V. Prasada Rao of Saiteja Computers said that Tally was the most popular accounting software in the country, with a market share of 90 per cent. The main objective of establishing the centre was to impart extensive training in the software.

``The software is an upgraded version (7.2) and it requires advanced learning to use it effectively,'' they said and pointed out that following the introduction of VAT, Service Tax and the changes made in tax deduction at source (TDS), it had become very cumbersome as separate accounts were needed to be maintained for everything.

The course, divided into four levels, would provide extensive practical and theoretical training to students. While it is the best option for commerce graduates, even science graduates and Intermediate students, who wish to take up careers in accounting, businessmen and housewives could join the course.

Mr. Narasimham said that Saiteja Computers would also give practical training to students at various business houses and with practising chartered accountants to acquaint them with the latest developments in the accounting field like VAT, fulfilling TDS rules, Central Sales Tax and Service Tax.

In reply to a question, he said that customised packages could be developed to meet the specific needs of companies using the software.

An online examination would be conducted by Tally Academy, and the successful candidates would be issued the Tally Graduate certificate. The names of the successful Tally graduates would be placed on the website.

Master Franchisee from Tirupati S. Siva Kumar was present at the press conference.
