A still from the film "Stealth".
CHENNAI: A new danger now lurks the globe with the prospect of a nuclear war. That's the scenario the forthcoming film "Stealth" depicts. The story is about an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UNCAV) nick named `EDI'. U.S. navy pilots Ben Gannon, Kara Wade and Hendry Purcell are part of a close-knit elite division of test pilots flying highly classified stealth fighter jets. Their commanding officer George Cummings introduces the team to their new UNCAV aircraft and asks them to execute the first real mission. The pilots go about the mission without much interest. But EDI successfully eliminates its target. But on the return trip, it is struck by lightning, changing its `brain'. But Commander Cummings asks EDI to rejoin the team. The problem arises only in the next mission against a nuclear-armed warlord in a remote Chinese province. The problems in EDI force Ben to abort the mission, but EDI goes against the orders and executes the hit anyway. On its way it goes to execute a top-secret mission which could spiral into world wide nuclear Armageddon. How it is stopped is the story of "Stealth". It has Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx, Sam Shepard, Joe Mortan and Richard Roxburgh. The production cost of the film was Rs. 65 crores, including one destruction scene for which apparently the makers spent Rs.5 crores. Directed by Rob Cohen, the highlight of the film is its visual effects. `Stealth' is also dubbed in Tamil.
