NEW DELHI: The Australian High Commission today announced new visa procedures for Indian and Nepalese students applying directly or through education agents. Encouraging students to apply electronically through agents, the Australian High Commission's First Secretary and Head of Public Affairs, John Fisher, said "the new streamlined procedures are expected to make it easier for students to lodge their applications''. As per the new procedures, students will have to apply electronically through agents listed at www.immi.gov.au/study/providers/participating_education_agent_list_v7.pdf. The procedure is, however, yet to be made available in Nepal. "These changes reflect the High Commission's commitment to innovation to improve our visa application procedures to enhance the service we give to our students wishing to study in Australia,'' added Mr.Fisher. The new arrangement will also help offices in Australia and India to process and finalise a large volume of applications in a short period.
