A/C waiting hall opened at Secunderabad station

HYDERABAD, JAN.24. An air-conditioned waiting hall on platform No.1 and a non-A/C dormitory on the first floor at the Secunderabad Railway Station were inaugurated by the Secunderabad MP, Anjan Kumar Yadav, and the Technical Education Minister, Nayani Narasimha Reddy, here on Monday. The Mayor, T. Krishna Reddy, was also present.

The facilities, as part of the on-going work taken up by the South Central Railway to upgrade the features at the Secunderabad Station, were provided a cost of Rs.15 lakhs. The Divisional Railway Manager Sudhir Mittal said an additional booking office with six counters, an additional entrance to the station, extension of the existing two-wheeler and cycle stands would be ready in a month while the food plaza, which was under construction, would take some more time so also the landscaping near the entrance.

The new A/C waiting hall would be available free of cost to passengers holding A/C class ticket. The new non-A/C dormitory with 17 beds with individual lockers and common washroom would be made available to passengers at Rs.50 per 12 hours. The latest dormitory facility would be in addition to the existing A/C dormitory with eight beds and 13 rooms, each with two beds.
