KANCHEEPURAM, JAN. 12. Bank accounts operated in the name of the Kanchi Sankara Mutt in different banks here are reported to have been frozen. According to counsel for the Mutt, A. Shanmugam, some of cheques issued by the Mutt had bounced. Till now, no official communication had been received by the Mutt on the freezing of the bank accounts and on whose instruction the action had been taken by the banks. UNI reports: Mr. Shanmugam told the press in Kancheepuram tonight that the special team probing the Sankararaman murder case issued summons to Sri Jayendra Saraswathi to appear before it tomorrow reportedly for questioning in the "Thirukottiyur" Madhavan assault case. Police visited Kalavai and served the summons, he said.
