Nine Indians among top 100 innovators

NEW DELHI, NOV. 8. Nine Indians figure in this year's list of 100 top innovators under the age of 35, chosen by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Technology Review magazine.

Be it Srinidhi Varadarajan who built the world's third-fastest supercomputer for $ 5 millions or Smruti Vidwans with her new approach to develop drugs against tuberculosis, the chosen 100 represent a group whose innovative work in technology has a profound impact in today's world.

One Indian name on the list is that of 28-year-old Vikram Sheel Kumar, CEO, Dimagi who founded the organisation in Boston to develop interactive software that motivates patients to manage chronic diseases such as diabetes and AIDS. His systems are being used in rural India and South Africa. — PTI
