Nair to continue as Kalam's Secretary

NEW DELHI,
OCT. 7.
P.M. Nair, a senior IAS officer serving as Secretary to the President and slated to retire on October 31, will continue in his post with effect from November 1, 2004 on a contract basis. His appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
According to an official notification, the terms and conditions of the appointment will be finalised by the President's Secretariat in consultation with the Department of Personnel and Training for a tenure co-terminus with the term of the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
