BANGALORE, SEPT. 7. The Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell will commence its fresh admission round seat-selection process for professional courses starting with counselling for NCC and sports quota candidates on September 10. The rank-wise selection process will be conducted from September 11 to November 17. For non-Karnataka students aggrieved by an increase in their fees, the CET Cell has extended some relief by way of centralised counselling. They can select the available engineering and technology seats up to 10 per cent of the total intake in unaided non-minority colleges at the Cell on October 25. However, the facility will not be available for medical and dental courses.
Allotments cancelled
All the seats allotted by the Cell for various courses between July 8 and August 19 stands cancelled. But there will be no change in the seats selected by physically disabled candidates. "All the candidates (barring the physically disabled) seeking admission to medical, dental, Indian Systems of Medicine, homoeopathy and engineering courses are required to attend counselling on the notified dates," the CET Cell special officer, D.N. Nayak, said in a press release. Candidates appearing for counselling for the first time should bring the original documents as detailed in the CET 2004 brochure. But the students allotted seats between July 8 and August 1 need to bring only the photocopies of the documents along with the acknowledgement cards issued by the Cell (Green Card) and the original bank challan showing that the fees had been paid. The fees already paid will be adjusted against the payment to be made during the fresh counselling. Excess amount, if any, will be refunded.
