CHENNAI, JUNE 25. Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has reported a net profit of Rs. 37 crores in the year ended March 31, 2004 an increase of 35 per cent over the previous year profit of Rs. 27 crores. The turnover stood at Rs. 499 crores as compared to Rs. 448 crores showing a growth of 11 per cent. A dividend of 35 per cent has been announced. The focus on high value added services and investments in growth areas in healthcare services have contributed to the performance of the company, according to Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals group. The group has experienced a surge of international patients and the telemedicine initiative continued to be successful. The group would be introducing PET CT (Position emission tomography and computer tomography) early next year. This is used for early detection of cancers and for treatment planning and modification of therapies. Apollo Hospitals International (formerly known as Akshaya Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad) is expected to commence operations from the third quarter of this year.
