VISAKHAPATNAM, JUNE 19. The Andhra University administration has decided to employ the former workers of its hostels to meet the increased workload. The Chief Wardens of all campus colleges and the women's and research scholars' hostels met on Saturday and decided to increase the workforce in the hostels since the number of students admitted into the hostels this year has increased. Late in the evening, the Chief Wardens issued a joint press release asking the former employees to contact the Chief Wardens concerned immediately. It may be recalled that the administration had discontinued the services of NMR and leave-vacancy employees of the hostels since last year. These employees are on an agitation demanding their reinstatement. The decision to ask them to report for work might be taken by the Vice-Chancellor, Y.C. Simhadri, to pacify them since he was the target of criticism for removing several students and some teachers and employees on disciplinary grounds.
