Hazare withdraws from Sawant panel

PUNE, MARCH 31. Noted social worker Anna Hazare has withdrawn from the proceedings of the Justice Sawant Commission, set up to probe allegations of corruption in Maharashtra.

Charging the State Ministers with resorting to ``terror tactics'' to ``pressurise'' witnesses, he told reporters here that he had lost interest in the Commission's proceedings. Mr. Hazare walked out of the office of the Commission even as the proceedings were scheduled to start today. — UNI
