K.V. Thomas to inaugurate IAPP branch

KOCHI, MARCH. 11. The Kerala branch of the Indian Association of Private Psychiatry will be inaugurated at Hotel Renaissance here on March 14 by the Minister for Excise and Fisheries, K V Thomas.

The IAPP's continuing medical education programme will be inaugurated on the same day by Justice A K Basheer. The State president of the association, Dr E. Mohandas, will preside over the function.

The MACTA chairman, K G George, Dr C. J. John and journalists will participate in a discussion on the topic - `Media and mental health'. Papers will be presented on `Religion, devotion and mental health' and `Private psychiatry in Kerala'. Among the topics that will be discussed are the changes that have to be brought in the Mental Health Act of 1987.
