Teargas shell triggers panic in Ayodhya

Ayodhya Jan. 5. An empty plastic cover of a tear-gas shell, found near a gate of Karsewakpuram, created panic in the city today.

Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area after the VHP media in-charge, Sharad Sharma, informed the Ayodhya Kotwali police station about the shell. Bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs were pressed into service. Mr. Sharma said the matter should be investigated further as sometimes ago some Pakistani stamp paper was also found there. — PTI
