Freedom fighters seek enactment of Goondas Act

By Our Staff Reporter

Pondicherry Jan.1. The Pondicherry State Freedom Fighters Association has called upon the Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, to enact Goondas Act to deal with those involved in the racket of registering pieces of property on spurious documents and bogus title deeds.

M. Periyasamy, president of the association, has written a letter to the Chief Minister that his association would place before the Government all details of the pieces of property that were disposed clandestinely.

There should be no fear or favour in initiating action against the offenders. Enactment of the Goondas Act would be of help for the Government to take stern action against the grabbers. Mr. Periyasamy also wanted revision of monthly pension paid to freedom fighters.
