Not acceptable

Sir, — The U.N. stand on sending troops from some countries to Iraq at the instance of the U.S. and the U.K., authorised but not organised by the world body, is not correct though it may seem wise. The war in Iraq did not have the U.N. mandate. For the world body to now preside over an international force will besmirch its credibility.

J.G. Kanagaraj,
Chennai
