According to police sources, the charge sheet accused Mr. Selvaraj of amassing wealth during his tenure as the Minister for Adi-Dravidar Welfare between 1996 and 2001. The DVAC has also named his wife and two daughters as accused in the case. The charge sheet was filed in the court of the special judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dhandapani. Mr. Selvaraj has been accused of purchasing vacant sites and land in the name of his kin at various places, including Madurai and Chennai.
