New Delhi June 18. The Cuban President, Fidel Castro, is likely to visit India soon. This was conveyed to the Minister of State for External Affairs, Digivjay Singh, at a meeting in Havana recently.

According to an External Affairs Ministry spokesman, the Cuban President reviewed various regional and international developments with the Indian Minister.

Mr. Singh extended an invitation to Mr. Castro, which the latter accepted.

Dates of the visit would be finalised through diplomatic channels, the spokesman said.

Mr. Singh also met several other top Cuban leaders and discussed ways to strengthen the Indo-Cuban relations.
