Brothers thrashed to death

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI JUNE 11. Three brothers, who were drug addicts and had a criminal past, were bludgeoned to death with a cricket bat and wickets allegedly by a man and his three sons at Chandni Mahal in Central Delhi on Monday. The accused have been arrested.

The incident took place late at night when Shrikrishan went to meet his neighbour, Ramnath, in whose house he had recently done some repair work. Shrikrishan knocked at the door which was answered by Ramnath's wife, Rajkumari.

He asked her to pay him Rs. 3,000 for the repair work, on which Rajkumari reminded him that he had agreed to work for Rs. 1,000. This led to a heated exchange of words between them. Ramnath, who heard his wife screaming, came out and tried to intervene. But, he too got involved in the altercation.

The situation went out of control when Shrikrishan's brothers, Kailash and Om Prakash arrived there.

In the meantime, Ramnath's three sons -- Deepak, Rajesh and Vipin -- too followed suit and came armed with cricket bat and wickets. They kept thrashing Shrikrishan and the other two till they fell unconscious.

The three -- who were bleeding profusely -- were rushed to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries during the treatment. Ramnath and his son, Deepak, sustained injuries.

Investigations revealed that Shrikrishan and his brothers were drug addicts and were involved in several criminal cases. Shrikrishan and Kailash were registered bad character of Chandni Mahal police station.

The police have registered a case of murder and arrested the four accused.
