NCERT books to be available soon

New Delhi April 26. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks for classes I to XII will reach them soon, as the nation-wide truckers' strike, which affected their distribution, has been called off.

The NCERT said in a press release today that the books, published under the National Curriculum Framework for School Education-2000, were now on their way to its regional centres in Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Bangalore from where wholesalers would lift them.

The NCERT director, J.S. Rajput, said, ``had the truckers' strike not intervened, we would have succeeded in putting our books into all school bags by now''.
