PDP has failed to keep promises: Omar

By Our Staff Reporter

Jammu Feb. 6. Accusing the People's Democratic Party (PDP)-led coalition Government of "wasting public money" on unproductive activities, the National Conference president and former Minister of State for External Affairs, Omar Abdullah, has said that the three-month-long Government has failed to keep the promises it had made to the people during the Assembly elections.

He is on a two-day tour of the border districts of Jammu region where several party leaders and cadre have shifted allegiance to the PDP.

The visit is being seen as an attempt to recover the lost ground in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

Addressing a conference of the `panches', `sarpanches' and delegates and office-bearers in Rajouri, Mr. Abdullah said: "False promises and emotions were the foundation of the PDP-Congress-Panthers coalition Government. It is getting exposed and it would not last long. Both the Congress and the PDP had made many promises to the people during the Assembly elections but not even a single promise has been fulfilled so far," he said.
