By Our Staff Reporter
During a surprise check at the check-post on April 19, 1996, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths found the AMVIs -- J. Bhaskar, J. Uma Maheswara Rao and L. Ramachander -- collecting `mamool' from drivers passing through the check-post, according to a press release. The subsequent departmental inquiry found them guilty of the charges. Presently, Bhaskar, Rao and Ramachander, are working at the office of the JTC (RTA, Hyderabad), office of the DTC (Karimnagar) and office of the DTC (Warangal) respectively.
Cut in pension
The State Government has ordered a ten per cent cut in the pension of a retired sub-inspector of police, S.M. Shahabuddin, as he was found guilty of corruption charges. In 1984, the Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths inquired into the allegation of misappropriation of stolen property by Shahabuddin, a press release said. Subsequently, the charges were proved in an inquiry conducted by the Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings.
