New Delhi
By Our Staff Reporter
Out of the other three buses, MF-4 would travel between Shahdara Terminal and Shivaji Stadium via Jheel, Geeta Colony and Connaught Circus; MF-5 would go from Shahdara Terminal to Anand Vihar via Vivek Vihar and Vishwas Nagar; and MF-6 would move from Shahdara Terminal to Harsh Vihar via Nand Nagri, Tahirpur and Seemapuri. The Press release said the Welcome and Seelampur Metro stations are also being linked by feeder services but will be served en route due to non-availability of parking facility. At the other end of the Shahdara-Tis Hazari corridor, the Kashmere Gate and Tis Hazari station are already being served by the existing DTC operations which connect ISBT City Bus Terminal and Mori Gate Bus Terminal from other parts of the city. The note said DTC is at present also not operating any parallel routes to the Metro service, which will run between Shahdara and Tis Hazari. Though the note remained silent on running of parallel services by private operators, the Delhi Transport Minister, Ajay Maken, had noted yesterday that removal of private buses from the parallel was not feasible at present as initially the Metro would run on a very short route and therefore inconveniencing long- distance travellers and those travelling with heavy luggage -- which is not allowed on Metro -- to the bus terminal and railway stations would not be correct.
