PT calls for joint fight in Sattankulam

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI Dec. 21. The Puthiya Tamizhagam president, K. Krishnasamy, today said all political parties to oppose the AIADMK and the BJP in the Sattankulam by-elections.

He would personally request the leaders of the DMK, the Congress and the Left parties to sink their differences, as the need of the hour was a joint front against the ``anti-people AIADMK Government.''

At meetings he had held at Sathankulam, he inferred that the people wanted a united opposition to take on the AIADMK.

Addressing presspersons here, Dr. Krishnasamy said his party would go ahead with a dharna in front of the Kanchi Mutt on January 26, as an apology he had sought from the Sankaracharya for his reported utterances on Dalits was not forthcoming.
