The dozer is an unmanned vehicle remotely operated from a 60-metre range with the help of a trans-receiver set. The dozer can work effectively in hazardous working conditions for handling toxic material, nuclear waste, and clearing debris in earthquake-hit areas. The radio-control dozer is part of BEML's initiative in launching disaster management equipment that are vital in handling natural calamities. Among the other equipment on display by BEML at the exhibition are the BE300/BE220/BE100 hydraulic excavators, BD31/BD50/BD65 bulldozers, BL8H backhoe loader, BG605 motor grader, BL200 wheel loader, and Bh35-2 rear dumper. These equipment have a wide scope and application in mining, construction, irrigation, limestone, quarries, and road development. With the infrastructure sector opening up in a big way, these equipment will have a good market in the coming years. The diesel generator set also on display is a diversified product from BEML developed by the in-house R&D. The company has identified high-potential energy systems as a new line of business activity. The BEML, which has been manufacturing heavy-duty diesel engines, is also offering engines for other applications like industrial machines, oil rigs, irrigation pumps, marine vessels, and compressors.
