``The 69th National, 27th junior and 11th women's National billiards and snooker championships hosted by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA) will be declared open here on Wednesday,'' JKBSA president and chairman of the organising committee Siddharath Sharma told pressmen here today. About 350 players and officials from 25 States and Union Territories would be participating in the meet, he said. Being hosted for the second time in the State and first time here in the winter capital, the prestigious championship has attracted top Indian players including former world champion Geet Sethi, Subash Aggarwal, Yasin Merchant, Ashok Shandliya, Alok Kumar along with reigning junior champion Pankaj Advani. At least 350 spectators can watch the players at the scene of action the Hari Niwas Palace Hotel hall while others can avail the facility of web cameras and giant LCD screens placed outside the hall. Schedule: Dec. 18-20 Billiards Championship for women; Dec. 19-23 Snooker Championship for women; Dec. 21-29 Junior Qualifying Championship for Snooker and Billiards; Dec. 28-30 Qualifying rounds for seniors for Snooker and Billiards; Dec. 31 to Jan 8 Senior Snooker Championship; Jan. 9-15 Senior Billiards Championship.
