Cong. candidate's car stoned

By Our Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD Dec. 6. Barring a stray incident of stoning of the car of the Congress candidate for the Godhra Assembly seat, the celebration of Id-ul-Fitr by the Muslims and ``Saurya Divas'' by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad remained peaceful all over the State today.

Rajendra Patel's car was stoned when he went to the Muslim-dominated Polon Bazar locality to ``exchange Id greetings.''

The VHP international president, Ashok Singhal, who was here to celebrate the ``Saurya Divas,'' and several other Parishad leaders addressed ``dharma sabhas'' in different parts of the city and State.

The Nationalist Congress Party nominee for the Gondal seat in Rajkot district, Mahipatsinh Jadeja, was arrested and later released on bail for alleged abduction of a woman.
